FAQ

Benchtop Cost cost questions.

Is Caesarstone worth the money over laminate?

If your total kitchen budget is $35,000 or more, almost always yes. Caesarstone adds $3,500-$5,500 over laminate but it is the single biggest visual upgrade in the kitchen. Below $30,000 total budget, the laminate-to-stone premium is a high percentage and may not make economic sense.

Will marble stain in my kitchen?

Real marble (Calacatta, Carrara, Statuario) etches from acidic liquids (lemon, wine, tomato). Resealing every 18-24 months reduces this. Adelaide homeowners who love the marble look but want lower maintenance typically choose dolomite (Super White) or marble-effect engineered stone (Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo).

How thick should a kitchen benchtop be?

20mm is the contemporary standard for engineered stone. 40mm and 80mm mitred edges are premium feature looks. Natural stone is typically 20mm with optional 30mm. Laminate is usually 33mm with ABS edging.
